Up her sleeve. Officers were dispatched Nov. 8 to the Dillard’s at Town Center mall, 14200 E. Alameda Ave. after store staff members reported an attempted theft. They had detained a woman who was allegedly seen leaving a dressing room with fewer items than she had when she entered, according to a police report. The woman had more than $250 worth of clothing concealed underneath and in the sleeves of her sweatshirt, according to the report. She also had an active warrant from Rifle and was arrested, police reported.

Burglar walked right in. Officers were dispatched Nov. 8 to a residence on the 2300 block of Newark Street. A man reported two cellphones and a speaker, worth nearly $1,500, were missing. The man told police someone allegedly entered his home through the front door, which he believes was left unlocked, according to a police report.

Stolen vehicle. Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle Nov. 7 from a man who lives on the 1100 block of South Racine Way. The man said he parked his vehicle outside his home and locked the doors. When he walked outside a few hours later, the car was gone, according to a police report.

Candle crazed. Officers were dispatched Nov. 8 to the Safeway at 1677 S. Havana St. after store personnel said they had detained an alleged shoplifter. The woman had attempted to steal $103 worth of scented candles, according to a police report. Officers cited the woman on suspicion of theft, according to the report.
